| Commercial Water Systems
The State Department of Health and the legislature determined that specific commercial water systems are public water systems but are classified as community or non-community, and either transient or non-transient.
Cazsonoma Lodge
The lodge and restaurant are open for business in the summer months. The lodge is a non-community public water system. RRU maintains the disinfection and monitors the quality of the spring source. A dual bag filter is employed to eliminate any silt and soil particles.
Redwood Empire Sawmill
This system requires the services of a licensed water treatment plant operator solely because there are over 15 employees who have access to the water source and is defined as a non-transient non-community system. RRU maintains the disinfection system and monitors water quality. The saw mill has three wells used for domestic purposes and one high-volume fire supply well.
Union Hotel
This is a single-service, non-community transient water system. The Union Hotel owns the water supply facilities and is responsible for the water quality. The Hotel also has a water service connection to the Occidental Community Services District. However, this is a redundant supply and is used only in emergencies.
Russian River Utility maintains the facilities and collects all water quality samples.
